Art Shows - Fascinating And Entertaining Art shows take place all around my town in the spring. Some of the streets are closed and the parks decorated for weekend art shows. People come from all over to admire the work. There is a lot of money changing hands as the art is purchased. Artists gather to compare each others work. Growing up, my father wanted me to have culture in my life. I didn’t like having to go to the art shows then, as I would rather be home watching cartoons. Now, I love to go to them.
I enjoy art shows so much, that I will drive quite a distance to go to the better art shows around. I usually don’t purchase anything because I can’t afford it, but I love to look at the art. I credit my father with exposing me to the arts, and thank him for it. I also enjoy the theatre and opera, but it isn’t found locally, and it very expensive. Most art shows are free and educational. I take my children. They enjoy watching the artists paint for the audience or create pottery. They will grow up to appreciate the arts as I have. I reward them with a lunch or dinner after the show. They love it when my father is able to join us. He explains the art to them as he did to me as a child.
I do have a great artwork collection that has grown over the years. I have a beautiful paining in my foyer that I had to have the moment I saw it. My husband objected that it was too expensive, but I still had to have it. I viewed it as an investment. My husband gets nervous when I attend art shows, as he is afraid I will leave the bank account dry. He does however; agree that whatever I purchase is absolutely gorgeous. Lucky for him, the art shows only come around once a year. |
